ANY PARTICIPATION IN THIS SITE WILL CONSTITUTE ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS OF USE AGREEMENT AND ALL POLICIES BELOW.

IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE POLICIES BELOW, PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SITE.

IT IS EXPECTED ALL USERS OF THIS SIGHT ARE OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE, IF YOUNGER THEY SHOULD BE SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT. IF, AS AND WHEN WE SHOULD SELL ANYTHING ON THE SITE PURCHASERS ARE EXPECTED TO BE OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE, IF YOUNGER THEY MUST BE SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT.

The Motor Museum in Miniature accepts no liability for the actions of unsupervised persons under the ages mentioned in any and all circumstances.

For the purposes of this page of policies, references to "you" or "your" mean the user of the Website and/or a customer of our products and services (if/when such might come about).

There are two parts to this page, the plain English bit, allowing for common sense and decency; and the “nuts’n’bolts” bit with all the long words and complicated sentences.

You know you should read everything, we know you probably won't;

but the onus is on you to do so.

Part 1   The plain-speaking stuff.

“The Motor Museum in Miniature" website is a showcase for the modelling and historical work of the founders, Rodney and Ian Knott. At this time, we do not sell anything on the site. When, and if, we do, a policy for doing business will be added (sorry about that!).

Persons who have supported the Museum by donating items, models or information are acknowledged, however, no personal details are kept. While we appreciate all the support we get, large or small, it is unsolicited generosity and no one from the museum would ever contact a person for any type of donation.

Terms of use (and all written below) apply to all visitors and any future customers and it is assumed by using the site you agree to them all. You can exercise you right to leave the site at any time and not to ever visit again! Enjoy your visit and feel free to contact us to ask questions, add information and point out any errors (I know my speeling cna be bid). Treat us, and everyone else, with the same respect we give you and lets just be sensible about life. Don’t expect us to know everything, we don’t; but we will try and find out and help where we can.

Disclaimer. The information on our site is the result of many years of reading about (and obviously participating in), model making, cars generally and automotive history; as well as talking for many hours with other model makers and motoring enthusiasts. It is only our interpretations and memories of the subjects and as humans we can make mistakes. We can't be held responsible for the consequences of people using our information and it being wrong. Everyone should do their own research thoroughly.

Copyright. Our aim is to provide our visitors, and those who see our display at shows and other event, with an entertaining view of how the internal combustion engine has changed our world and the ways we live. We do this as far as possible by unique material (models rather than photo’s and articles) created by ourselves.

If you do want to use something from our site, please ask, and give us a mention. If you think we have somehow infringed your copyright, drop us a line and we'll sort out the issue as adults.

Cookies are used by "Yola", who host the site and provide the tools to create and run the site, in order to speed up the interaction rates for the visitor. This means you folks get to find us, our pictures, and generally navigate around the site a little more quickly.

You can protect yourself from unwanted cookies and tracking by use of your own settings on your own web browser.

Data management, The Motor Museum in Miniature has no servers to be hacked or otherwise attacked, our website being hosted by Yola on their servers. Ian does his best to keep the site up dated and working, thanks to (and sometimes with the help of) the wonderful people at Yola. Yola provide the Museum with a monthly statistical analysis of the websites performance. The Motor Museum in Miniature receives no names, addresses or identifying information in the analysis and keeps it no longer than two days in order to review it. If Yola are collecting anything else then it is not for us and we can't be held responsible for it. But we'd like to know if they are as we would consider that a breach of our trust.

The information we do receive containing names or contact details are those provided by visitors using the site for direct emailing of the Museum. We can't reply if we don't have an email address to reply to! This information is not kept on any lists other than our email account. We never supply any details of any contacts to anyone else without prior approval.

On occasion we might make written notes of visitors at shows/events who would like certain models or services. Minimal contact details are taken and kept as safe as possible (to stop us losing them as much as anything else!). Once the dealings are concluded only that required by business law is retained.

Any emails sent via Yola are saved for one month to allow any follow up conversation. Those emails sent directly to rodian-mmim@hotmail.co.uk are kept for two years for the same reason. Direct emails are more likely to be from regular commentators, friends, event organisers etc and therefor are more likely to be needed for future planning or reference. Rest assured if we don't need it we won't keep it clogging up the computer!

All our email activity is overseen by Ian and is as secure as reasonably possible. Sadly, hacking does happen to people and however great ones’ passwords are, and however often they are changed, there is always a possibility of this vile, illicit activity being perpetrated upon us; or indeed your good selves.

If you receive emails from us that you find intrusive, offensive, or you (or the content) are not connected in any way to model making or motoring, then please let us know; our email account has probably been hacked!

We do collect memorabilia form the places we display at (pamphlets, flyers, wristbands etc.) as part of our efforts to keep a history of the Museum. Some of this occasionally has contact details on it. We don’t give any of these out for any purpose other than that which was intended by the show/event organisers and keep out history project secure (again, to stop us losing it!).

Endorsements, we don’t! The Motor Museum in Miniature receives no sponsorship, free products or services. While we mention many products on the website we do not endorse any of them. They are simply examples of products that have been used to build the models and to demonstrate how the model making hobby has developed over the decades. We also mention some companies and have external links to them. This should not be construed as any form of endorsement either, but a way to find other like minded people and businesses. Anything that goes wrong for you when using model making products or other websites is beyond our control, so, always read (and follow), manufacturer’s instructions for everything, and, be careful where (and how) you go shopping around online.

Advertising, there is no advertising on our site. This might change in the future and suitable information on the subject will be given at that time. We can’t afford ad’ campaigns, we haven’t got time to spend spamming people and we, as simple ordinary folk, don’t like receiving unsolicited mail any more than anyone else. We will seek out events and contacts to share our passions for model making and motoring. If we don’t get a response we won’t keep hassling someone. What we do that might be construed as advertising is use our social media sites to tell folks what we are up to, after that it’s word of mouth.
